General

  • 1. Contemporary Lighting Limited (hereby known as ‘us', ‘we', ‘our') owns and operates this website. Trading address is Contemporary Lighting, 129 Humberstone Road, Leicester. LE5 3AP. VAT Registered 922 0347 58 , Company No. 06424722
  • 2. There is no restriction of age to view this site but if you are under the age of 18 you must be under the supervision of a parent or guardian if you wish to place an order.
  • 3. We will make every effort to ensure the pricing on the website is accurate, but errors may occur. If we discover an error in the pricing of a product you have ordered we will inform you as soon as possible and give you the option of reconfirming the order at the new correct price or to cancel it. If we receive no response from you we will assume the order is cancelled and if payment has already been received; we will refund you in full.
  • 4. A contract only exists between you and us once we have dispatched the product(s) you have ordered. A confirmation e-mail will be sent to you on dispatch and this accounts to acceptance by Contemporary Lighting Ltd. of your offer to buy goods from us. This exists whether you receive the e-mail or not.
  • 5. Confirmation e-mails will contain relevant statutory information concerning your contract and will contain a link to these terms & conditions. You agree that e-mail can be used as a means of communication.
  • 6. It is your responsibility to check that the information on the confirmation e-mail is correct, ideally you should print a copy.
  • 7. We can process you data in accordance to our privacy statement. Please view this for further information.
  • 8. You confirm that all information you provide us to order products on our website is correct and that the credit or debit card used is your own and that you have the funds to cover the costs of purchase.
  • 9. Our website requires you to create a username and password in order to place orders. You are responsible for all actions taken on your username and password. As such you should make every effort to keep your password secure and do not share it with anyone else. You can change your password if it is compromised. Do not permit anyone to use your account either directly or indirectly.
  • 10. It is your responsibility to inform us of changes to your details.

Liabilities

  • 11. All fixtures are covered by a 12 month warranty. If the product develops a fault while under warranty we will either repair or replace the product.
  • 12. Bulbs; whether supplied with the fixture or as a separate order have no guarantees
  • 13. The Products sold on our site are provided for domestic and consumer use. Contemporary Lighting does not accept liability for any indirect loss, consequential loss, loss of data, loss of damage to property and/or from claims of third parties from using our site or any of the products purchased from Contemporary Lighting Limited.
  • 14. In the event that you receive goods that you did not order or which are damaged or defective, or are of different quantity to that stated on your order form. We shall, at our discretion, make good on any shortage or non-delivery, replace or repair any damaged or defective goods, or refund to you the amount you paid for the goods in question. This can only be done if you notify Contemporary Lighting within 10 working days of receipt of the goods. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Order Process

  • 15. All prices stated on our Site include any sales taxes (where it is applicable) and no charge is made for shipping. The Credit/Debit card is charged on the day of shipping.
  • 16. As Contemporary Lighting is a UK company, UK Law will govern all aspects of the contractual agreement concerning purchases made from this site.

Delivery

  • 17. Products will be sent to the address stated by you in your order and on the confirmation e-mail. The delivery time is approximate.
  • 18. We cannot be held responsible for delays in delivery resulting from matters outside of our control. These include but are not limited to acts of God, war, flood, fire, strikes, riots, vandalism, governmental actions etc.
  • 19. Risk in any product ordered will pass to you upon delivery.

Promotional Offers

  • 20. From time to time we will send out promotional e-mails containing voucher codes that offer discounts on specific products or complete orders. A complete description of the offer will be detailed in the e-mail
  • 21. You may only use one promotional code per order. They are non transferable and have no cash value.

Others

  • 22. We have no liability for any problems occurring with any telecommunication service provider for faults in their equipment and/or network.
  • 23. You may not supply or create any link to our website without our consent.
  • 24. You may not copy any part of this site including all photos, logos and text.
  • 25. It is against the law to provide a false name or credit card known to be invalid to order. Anyone caught knowingly entering false or fictitious orders will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
  • 26. We reserve the right to terminate this Agreement and to suspend or terminate your access to the site immediately and without notice if:
  • You fail to make payment when due.
  • You breach our Terms & Conditions
  • We suspect you have engaged or are about to engage in illegal activity on the site.
  • 27. We may amend our terms and place a new version on the site. We will make all reasonable efforts to notify existing users of our new terms. All purchases made from the date we post the amended details are governed by the new terms. The only way to opt out of the terms is to cease using the Site.
  • 28. You are responsible for reading and understanding these terms and conditions of use for this Site.
  • 29. Upon placing an order you agree to all conditions as stated above. 
  • IMPORTANT! Our products must be assembled and installed by a qualified electrician.
